Heavy Rains Submerge Ibiza Streets
The intensity of last night’s rainfall due to storm ‘Patricia’ caused flooding in several areas of Ibiza, including Es Pratet and Platja d’en Bossa.
Rainfall and Temperatures Plummet
In the past 24 hours, the Ibiza airport recorded 72 liters per square meter of rainfall, while the city of Ibiza saw 50, Sant Antoni 47, Sant Joan 7, and Formentera 35. Temperatures dropped to 20ºC in the Pitiusas region.
Velero Ship Grounded by Strong Waves
The strong waves along the Pitiusas coast led to a sailboat running aground on ses Salines Beach. Emergency services reported 18 incidents in Ibiza and two in Formentera.
Coastal Warnings in Effect
Ibiza and Formentera remain under a yellow alert for coastal phenomena until 11 a.m. on Friday. Wind speeds of 40 to 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) from the north, reaching force six or seven, and waves of two meters are expected in the northern part of Ibiza.
Alert Extended into Saturday
The coastal warning will be reactivated at midnight on Saturday and will be in effect until 7 a.m.
